The Blogosphere

July 13, 2009

Recently updating our blogroll here at Political Cartel made me realize how impressive the entire blogosphere really is.  We link to blogs maintained by people who live all over the world and write about a myriad of different topics.  Many more sites link back here from all sorts of random people and places.

The image to the right shows a visualization of the blogosphere that appeared in Discoverer Magazine.  The article is short and the topic is fascinating.

In this visualization of the blogosphere, LiveJournal bloggers (3), porn-bloggers (5), and jock-bloggers (6) have something in common – they are all on the fringes of the blogosphere network.  Blogs like Political Cartel would probably appear as tiny points somewhere around (4), which includes a large cloud of closely-knit and interlinking sites that discuss political and social issues.

Jeez, we’ve gone two weeks without a post. If there wasn’t such thing as Google Reader, I don’t know who would ever come here anymore.

Yeah I know. This summer has been crazy busy. When blogging season picks back up in the fall, it will be better for everyone I think (maybe even those of us going to law school).
