Blame Fox News and the RNC
The premise of Paul Krugman’s article in the New York Times seems odd – blame Fox News and the Republican Party for the Tillman murder and the shooting at the Holocaust museum. But it is definitely worth reading.
To summarize, Krugman cites the Department of Homeland Security report that compares conditions now to those of the early 1990s, which ultimately resulted in the Oklahoma City bombing. Krugman says, however, that right wing media and politicians are feeding prejudice, misinformation, aggression, and hatred more now than ever before. The kinds of people likely to strike out violently against Jews, Muslims, and abortion providers evidently watch Fox News a lot and write in, too (just ask Shep Smith).
I am sure that Krugman would agree that Fox, etc. cannot be directly blamed for these acts of violence. But I think his point is unassailable that they are contributing factors. Even if they are not co-conspirators, they are enablers.

Every time Fox gives footage of anything Islamic, it is either a flag-burning or a “death to America” rally. Way to put on display 1% of the Islamic world as if it were 99.
