I agree with it. I think we are definitely in times where troop deductions in Iraq are called for although there are a few hot spots that need to maintain a troop presence for awhile. And there is definitely a need for something of a “residual force,” as you put it, to remain there.

Overall, this is one of the most intelligent posts on Iraq that I’ve read in awhile.
